Claire Marie Blaustein got her start playing violin at age four. After years of study, including a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance from Indiana University, Bloomington, she moved from playing to writing about music.

With a master's degree in Music Criticism from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, and work in publications including Exclaim! Magazine, producing record reviews on world and folk music; The Washington Post, covering classical music concerts in the DC area; BBC Music Magazine, where she was the runner-up in the Young Writer of the Year awards; and National Public Radio as an online and on-air commentator; Claire continues to move into new subjects and media.

Claire has become an adaptable and proficient writer and editor. She continues to explore new topics on her blogs, and produce work across subjects and media.
